Carolina’s Steve Smith Calls Ref “Garbage”

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith has never been one to mince words.

His latest words will undoubtedly make his wallet a lot lighter.

Smith's Panthers lost to Arizona 22-6 on Sunday and Smith was none too happy about calls made (or not made) by umpire Dan Ferrell.

espn.com reports Smith called Ferrell "the sorriest referee I've ever met," and followed that up by calling him "garbage."

Smith was upset over an  interference call that wasn't made and a spot that cost the Panthers a first down.

The veteran also said he makes enough money to where, "if Roger Goodell wants to fine me, he can."
