Google Reveals The Most Searched GIFs Of 2019
No matter how you pronounce it, you probably searched for a GIF at some point this year to use in a text or on social media.
I got into an argument about how GIF is pronounced with a friend recently. She said it's pronounced 'jif,' like the peanut butter, and I said that it's pronounced like 'gift' without the 't.' She proceeded to tell me the guy who created GIFs said the right way to say it is the way she said it. I looked it up and yep, that's what he says. I don't care, though, I'm going to keep pronouncing it the way it looks because that makes more sense to me.
No matter where you stand on its pronunciation, you probably use GIFs at least once daily in a text message or on social media. I have to be honest: I love them, and find myself wasting time looking up just the right GIF to communicate my feelings at the time.
