A sellout crowd packed the Hive Wednesday night to watch the Hornets defeat the Clippers 98-87. David West led all scorers with 22 points, while Chris Paul had a double-double, to help power New Orleans over L.A.

New Orleans lost their third in a row in Portland Wednesday night. The effort was good, but the Trail Blazers were better, winning 103-96. David West had 27 for the Hornets, but it was the other power forward who was the player of the game. LaMarcus Aldridge reminded the NBA that he should be playing in the all-star game.

The result, a dominant performance for the hottest team in the league as the Hornets thump San Antonio 96-72. New Orleans has now won 8 in a row for the second time this season.

Orlando rode into New Orleans on an NBA best 9 game winning streak. The Hornets snapped it Wednesday night at the Hive, defeating the Magic in overtime 92-89. Marco Belinelli left with a sprained ankle 67 seconds into the game. Without their starting two guard, the Hornets got Marcus Thornton's best game of the season, as he scored 22 points, with 7 of those coming in overtime.

The Hornets were going for their fourth straight win Wednesday night. The fourth quarter performance by New Orleans kept that from happening, and the Golden State Warriors won at the Hive, beating the Hornets 110-103.

David West and Chris Paul led the way for the Hornets as they won their third straight game Monday night. Tenacious defense and timely scoring were the key as New Orleans beat the Philadelphia 76ers at the Hive by the score of 84-77.

In the month of December, the Hornets were Jekyll and Hide, with Jekyll being New Orleans, and Hide being any opposing arena. It was perhaps the best performance of the year for the New Orleans Hornets. After the biggest comeback in franchise history Wednesday night, the Hornets followed it up with a dominant beatdown Friday evening of a Utah Jazz team that has had their number the last few years.

Hornets continue to struggle, having lost nine of their last twelve. Miami is going in the other direction, winning their ninth straight.

Wednesday night at the Hive, Chris Paul, Marco Belinelli, David West, and the rest of the Hornets did not look distracted by the ownership issues surrounding the Hornets. Instead, they looked focused in a dominant 93-74 victory.

David West sat out Friday's game versus the Knicks with an intestinal virus. The Hornets defensive effort probably gave many fans a stomach virus as well.
