What’s the most important app on your phone? A recent survey indicates the number one choice is Facebook, followed by Instagram. Rounding out the top10 are Gmail, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook messenger, Twitter, Google Maps, Google, and Amazon.

The average American has 20 apps installed on their smartphone. (I have 111). Facebook is still number one overall, but not by as overwhelming a margin as it was two years ago. It’s fallen from number one with 26% of respondents down to 21%.

Facebook drops to number four in popularity with people under age 25, behind Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook messenger are all important to me in my work. I have Snapchat, but haven't used it in a couple of years.
