The following is a game preview of Acadiana vs Comeaux, written by the voice of the Acadiana Wreckin’ Rams, James P. Bitterman.

The Barbe Buccaneers (4-1) rolled in to Bill Dotson Stadium with a lot of gaudy offensive numbers and a commitment to keep the Acadiana Wreckin' Rams (5-0) tried and true formula of running the ball and playing good defense from working.

However, the Rams had other plans. The Terrible Turk defense kept its 5th opponent to under 300 yards of total offense, while the Veer Machine used a balance attack of 198 yards rushing, a rushing touchdown, 226 yards passing and 3 passing touchdowns to come away with a 28-14 victory. If you have not seen Jaylon Borel's 74 yard touchdown pass to Jaylen James, do yourself a favor and find a replay of one of the best catches and runs you will ever see.

This week, the Wreckin' Rams travel across town to face the Comeaux Spartans (3-2) and old friend Doug Dotson. Doug , head coach of Comeaux, certainly knows the veer, and last year AHS escaped at home with a 42-38 victory. And who can forget the last time Acadiana was undefeated and travelled to Comeaux in 2007 when the Wreckin' Rams left with a very ugly loss.

This year's squad aims to keep their focus on one week at a time as each week has significant importance in the power ratings. (See power ratings after 5 weeks below.)
