Former New Orleans Saints tight end Ben Watson spoke openly last season about 2018 being his final year.

After 15 years in the league, the married father of 7 felt it was the right time to move into the next chapter of his professional life, though he wasn't entirely sure what it would be.

Now he's reconsidering, and may return for his 16th NFL season, according to ESPN.

New Orleans signed tight end Jared Cook last month.

Whether the Saints would be open to having Watson back on their roster for 2019 (if he wanted to return to New Orleans) is unknown, though his experience and locker room presence would be valuable as a third string tight end behind Cook and Josh Hill.

Watson reeled in 35 passes for 400 yards and 2 scores last season.
