While speaking about Jay Wright's time in China, Ragin' Cajun Basketball Head Coach Bob Marlin confirmed games against UCLA, Pepperdine and Miami (FL).

The Cajuns will take a trip to South Beach on November 16th to take on the Hurricanes, then bounce to the other side of the country for a West Coast tour of UCLA, Pepperdine and some California sun. Not bad places for away games. Anybody out there already trying to figure out how to book both vacations...I mean road trips?

Marlin couldn't confirm anything else on the schedule aside from a game against New Orleans on December 21st, but beggars can't be choosers. Cajun fans will take any bit of schedule unveiling they can get, especially when it's a non-conference opponent like UCLA.

In terms of his budding leader at the point guard position, Marlin thought Wright learned a lot from his time with Reach USA. After experiencing the same adventure former Cajun and current Orlando Magic Point Guard Elfrid Payton went through, Wright learned how to play a different style of game in a completely new environment. Marlin disclosed that Wright lost six pounds overseas...before making a trip to Mama's house back in Georgia to pack the weight back on.

There is a lot of offseason left ahead for Marlin, Wright and the rest of Ragin' Cajun Basketball. With Shawn Long going to the Nike Skills Academy, his decision to return could help propel this team to greater heights. Long and Wright aren't the only ones who made travel plans for the summer either.

Bryce Washington and Johnathan Stove will be on their way to New Zealand for two weeks at the end of July and the first ten days of August to participate and play in an Athletes in Action tour. Coach Gus Hauser will also be taking Scotty Plaisance and a team to Europe for a little ball.

There is a lot of room for growth this offseason. A change of scenery provides a new perspective. We'll see if the trips pay off down the road against Miami, UCLA, Pepperdine, and whoever else ends up on the slate.
