Breaking Down DeMarcus Cousins Triple-Double from a Historical Standpoint
DeMarcus Cousin had a game of epic proportions on Monday night as he recorded a triple-double that hasn't been seen since one of the all-time greats.
Boogie produced 44 points, 24 rebounds, and 10 assists as the New Orleans Pelicans erased a 17 point deficit with about 5 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. They ended up needing double overtime but the Pels were able to overcome the Chicago Bulls 132-128.
Now, back to Boogie.
With his enormous game of statistical dominance, he became just the fifth player ever to record such a game. The last player to produce a game with those type of big numbers was, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who poured in 44 points, 20 rebounds, and 11 assists triple-double all the way back in 1972.
The only other players to accomplish this feat were, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, and Oscar Robertson.
