Head coach Tony Robichaux announced today that righthander Chase Traffica will be the Cajuns' opening night starter when Louisiana hosts Central Michigan Friday night.

Traffica missed all of last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.  The Birmingham, AL native was used out of the bullpen in 2011.

In Saturday's doubleheader, newcomer Cody Boutte will make his Divison I debut.  The New Iberia lefty led LSU-E to the NJCAA Divison II championship last spring.   In the second game, Louisiana will go with sophomore right hander Austin Robichaux (2-4, 2.91 in 2012.)

Robichaux said Sunday's starter was still up in the air but don't be surprised if it's junior college lefty Ryan Wilson.  The dual threat is also expected to see action for the Cajuns in the outfield during the weekend.

Friday's game is at 6pm.  Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 2pm, and Sunday's single game will get underway at 11am.

Saturday was originally scheduled as a day/night doubleheader but it was announced game two will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one because of anticipated cold weather.
