Cavs Trade Kyrie Irving To Celtics For Isaiah Thomas & More

All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving surprised the sporting world last month when he revealed to the press his desire to be traded away from the Cleveland Cavaliers, hoping to get away from LeBron James and sent to a team where he could be more of a focal point.

The Boston Celtics, who lost to Cleveland in the Eastern Conference Finals in May, pulled the trigger on a major trade tonight to acquire Irving.

Kyrie gets to Beantown, while the Cavs got a heavy haul in return.

All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas goes to Cleveland, along with forward Jae Crowder, center Ante Zizic and the Brooklyn Nets' 2018 unprotected first round pick.

Irving was the first overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft. Thomas was the last overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft.

For Irving, he gets out of Cleveland to star for one of NBA's most popular, relevant franchises.

On the other side, Cleveland gets an All-Star in Thomas, an ultra competitive Jae Crowder, a likely high first round draft pick and a young center with real potential.

In the end, Cleveland and Irving both got what they wanted.
