An NFL team has signed a former Sun Belt Conference standout, who played for a state school.

Former ULM running back Derrick Gore was signed by the Los Angeles Chargers recently.

A native of Syracuse, New York, Gore played played two seasons at Alabama (2015 & 2016), before spending the last two years at  ULM.

The 5-foot-11, 212-pound Gore went undrafted in the 2019NFL Draft.

Gore rushed for 662 yards and 6 touchdowns for the Warhawks last season.
