New Orleans Pelicans big man DeMarcus "Boogie" Cousins will not be available for Wednesday night's home game against the Detroit Pistons the NBA announced it would not rescind the technical foul he received in the first quarter of Sunday's loss at Oklahoma City.

It was Cousins' first tech as a member of New Orleans, but his 18th of the season.

Per NBA rules, once a player reaches 16 technical fouls in a single season, he is suspended for the next game. Every other foul thereafter, the player will be suspended again.

Cousins leads the league in techs this season, and each season since he entered the league in 2010.

On another note, Cousins enjoyed his Mardi Gras, riding with teammates Anthony Davis and Tim Frazier in Zulu.

Cousins and Davis were honorary grand marshals.
