New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is always open about his admiration of all U.S. Military, both past and present.

Last year at Sean Payton's Black & Gold Gala, Brees and his wife Brittany were introduced to the K9s for Warriors program.

The program is designed to pair up service K9s with those who served in the military post 9/11 and are suffering from PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disability), military sexual trauma, or traumatic brain injury.

K9s who are coupled with Warriors help empower the veteran in his or her return to civilian life and independence.

The Brees' sponsored a German Shepard mix. Fittingly, the dog is named "Brees".

"Brees" joins Air Force veteran April Sandlin, who currently suffers from PTSD.

In a statement released by Sandlin through K9s for Warriors, she expressed the benefit of having "Brees".

"I can feel a difference in my life. I am very thankful for K9s For Warriors and that Drew Brees was so kind to sponsor my dog. Many things in combat cannot be unseen or unheard. I can't forget those things, but my dog helps me focus on something different -- our bond."
