Four members of the 11th ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team were named to the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) All Region squad 1rst team today.

Of the schools represented on the team, only Oklahoma had more 1st team selections (5) than the Cajuns.

Pitcher Jordan Wallace, catcher Lexie Elkins, second baseman Haley Hayden, and outfielder Shellie Landry all represent Louisiana on the 1st team.

The All-Region team is voted on by NFCA member coaches from each represented region.

All four Cajuns are now eligible for selection to one of three 2015 NFCA Division I All-American teams.

Wallace leads the squad with 16 victories on the season, sporting a 1.98 ERA with 199 strikeouts on the year.

Elkins leads all of NCAA softball with 29 home runs so far this year, sporting a .426 batting average. She was the Sun Belt Conferece player of the year last season, earning first-team All-Region honors last year, as well as third-team All-American honors.

Hayden ranks 7th in the NCAA this season in runs scored with 60, and has reached base in 45 of Louisiana's 48 games in 2015.

Landry is enjoying a spectacular junior season, posting career-highs in hits (58), doubles (14), home runs (19) and extra base hits (33). She currently sports a .377 batting average.

Louisiana begins postseason play tomorrow at Lamson Park. As the number 13 overall national seed, the Cajuns host Weber State in their opening game of the Lafayette Regional Friday night at 8.
