Hornets big man Aaron Gray is questionable for Wednesday night's playoff matchup with the Lakers. The Hornet Center, who had a sensational game in Sunday's win, sprained his ankle with 1:07 left in regulation. Here is more from John Reid of the Times Picayune and nola.com.

New Orleans Hornets backup center Aaron Gray was held out of Monday's practice and remains questionable to play in Wednesday night’s Game 2 against Los Angeles Lakers because of a sprained right ankle.  Gray spent most of the practice lying on a trainer’s table with his ankle elevated. He said the swelling has gone down a lot and his range of motion is returning, but Gray left practice walking in a protective boot.

The fact that Gray is still in a walking boot is not a good sign.  He described his ankle as having "a softball in it." Aaron missed some time early in the regular season after suffering a high ankle sprain in practice.

The Hornets certainly need Gray in a matchup with the Lakers. Aaron is coming off the best game of his career. He registered a stunning +25 in his +/- rating on Sunday. Chris Paul called his teammate the "player of the game."
