The 2013 NBA finals hadn't had much late drama before Game 6. Game 6 had enough drama late to make up for an entire postseason.

The Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 103-100 in overtime Tuesday night to force a Game 7, but it was anything but easy.

San Antonio led the majority of the game, thanks in large part to Tim Duncan. He was vintage Duncan for three quarters, scoring 30 points and pulling down 17 boards. However, he was held scoreless in 4th quarter and overtime.

Miami entered the 4th quarter down 10 before mounting a comeback. League MVP LeBron James struggled early, but had a solid 9 minute stretch in the 4th quarter to help give his team a late lead. He scored 16 points in the 4th, but seemed to run out of gas down the stretch, though he did finishe with an impressive triple-double (32 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds).

San Antonio then regained the advantage, clinging to a 4 point lead with 28 seconds left and Manu Ginobili at the free throw line shooting 2. At this point, some Heat fans were seen leaving the arena, while NBA security began bringing the championship trophy out of the locker room. Leonard missed one of two, then James hit a 3 with 20 seconds to go. Then Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard stepped to the free throw line with 19 seconds to go in regulation. Like Ginobili, he hit one of two.

With the season hanging in the balance for Miami, and a championship hanging in the balance for San Antonio, Heat guard Ray Allen hit a 3 pointer (pictured left) with 5 seconds left to tie the game, forcing overtime.

The extra five minutes saw several lead changes, but inevitably the Heat would win it 103-100, thanks in large part to two big blocks late by Miami power forward Chris Bosh.

Both teams seemed to be out of gas late, but the Heat forced a Game 7, winner take all for the NBA championship. Tip-off on Thursday night from South Beach is set for 8:00.
