In the last homegame of the season, the soldout crowd at the New Orleans arena watched their Hornets defeat the Houston Rockets in overtime 105-99. Eric Gordon (pictured left) scored 27 points to lead all scorers. It was the seventh win in ten tries for New Orleans, who got contributions from everyone on Thursday night.

Carl Landry finished with 20 points and 10 boards, Al-Farouq Aminu scored 17 points, Marco Belinelli had 13 points, and Gustavo Ayon had nine points and 10 rebounds.

Due to injuries, it was only the 8th game of the season for Gordon. The Hornets are 6-2 when he's on the floor, a telling stat that reminds coach Monty Williams how good his young team could be in the near future.

New owner Tom Benson sat courtside with his wife Gayle. He celebrated with the soldout Hive as his team went on a 9-0 run in overtime to close the game with style.

The Rockets have lost six straight, and are now one game out of the playoffs with one week left in the regular season. The two clubs will meet again next Thursday in Houston in the regular season finale.

Next up for the Hornets is a trip to the West Coast for a Sunday night matchup against the former face of the franchise, Chris Paul. New Orleans' matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers is set for 8:30.
