Portland Trail Blazers rookie Damian Lillard sunk a three-pointer with 0.3 seconds left in regulation, propelling the Blazers to a 95-94 victory over the New Orleans Hornets. The heartbreaking loss for the Hornets marks (5-18) their 7th straight defeat.

New Orleans trailed by 16, but came roaring back in the final frame. New Orleans rookie Austin Rivers drained a 3-pointer with 50.2 seconds left to tie the game at 92. Rookie Anthony Davis was outstanding off the bench, scoring 15 points in 34 minutes. In the end, it still didn't add up to a win.

Ryan Anderson led all scorers with 26, going a remarkable 7-10 from beyond the arc. New Orleans point guard Greivis Vasquez was solid as well, putting up a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds. Lance Thomas (pictured) had 8 points and 7 rebounds off the pine.

The success of those 5 players makes the loss that much more difficult. New Orleans continues to do many things right, just not quite enough. The young team is reeling, and in desperate need of a victory.

Lillard finished with 16 for Portland (11-12). J.J. Hickson led the Trail Blazers with 24.

A tough road trip continues for the Hornets as they travel to Oakland to battle the Golden State Warriors (16-8) on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 9:30.
