Local Product Kelci Bodin Heading To Southeastern Louisiana
A former local prep standout has found a Division I college softball home.
Kelci Bodin, who played they last two years at LSU Eunice, following an outstanding prep career at Loreauville High School, will be playing at Southeastern Louisiana next season.
A native of New Iberia, Bodin helped LSU Eunice to its sixth national championship in the past nine years in 2019, earning National Tournament MVP honors, while hitting a grand slam home run in the national championship game.
An infielder and outfielder, Bodin hit .325 as a sophomore, to go along with 11 home runs, 44 runs batted in, a .658 slugging percentage, and 25 stolen bases, which was good enough to earn NJCAA Division II All-American honors.
Bodin, who has two years of eligibility remaining at Southeastern Louisiana, earned All-State, District 6-2A MVP and Teche Area Player of the Year award honors as a senior at Loreauville.
Over her illustrious prep career, Bodin hit .534, to go along with with 158 hits, 80 doubles, 36 triples, 86 RBIs, 169 runs scored and 17 home runs.
