Its been a challenging year for the former starting quarterback of the University of Alabama, Jalen Hurts won the 2016 SEC Offensive Player of the Year award his freshman year while guiding Bama to a National Title berth (lost to Clemson). He got the team back there a year later but was then replaced at halftime against Georgia by Tua Tagovailoa after struggling to move the football, Tua never relinquished the starting job.

Therefore, Hurts was regulated to the bench and back-up duties for 2018, his junior season with the Crimson Tide. After Clemson embarrassed them in another National Championship Game appearance Hurts felt it was best that he move on and give himself a chance to play and showcase his talents once again in hopes of being drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Hurts penned a piece that was published on the Players Tribune in which he thanks Alabama, coach Saban, the supporters, and his family for the opportunity. He also announced that he'd be taking his talents to......

(Drum roll please....)

Norman, Oklahoma to play for Lincoln Riley and the Sooners this coming fall for the 2019 college football season.

Talk about a run of quarterbacks this school and Riley has had an opportunity to coach over the past three seasons starting with Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray last season, and now Jalen Hurts enters the fray.

I don't know if Jalen Hurts can win games with the combination of his arms/legs the way Mayfield or Murray did with the talent around them and a lack of defense but we're going to find out. Should be fun to watch and see how Hurts performs this coming season for the Sooners.
