The New Orleans Saints offense struggled on the road once again but they got a dominating defensive performance on Monday night defeating the Carolina Panthers 12-9.

Last week the Saints ranked as the most powerful team in the NFL and with another win, they remain in the top spot in this week's rankings ESPN NFL Power Rankings.

The Top Five is as so:

  1. New Orleans Saints (12-2) Steady at 1
  2. Los Angeles Chargers (11-3) Up two from 4
  3. Kansas City Chiefs (11-3) Down one from 2
  4. Los Angeles Rams (11-3) Down one from 3
  5. Chicago Bears (10-4) Up one from 6

A couple teams who made big moves this week were the New England Patriots who fell out of the top five and down to seventh after losing to the Steelers. The Indianapolis Colts bumped up three spots after defeating the Dallas Cowboys at home 23-0 and the Cleveland Browns jumped up three spots from 20th to 17th.

The Saints continue their journey for the #1 seed in the NFC this week needing to win just one of their final two games at home. This week they welcome in the Pittsburgh Steelers into the dome for what we're expecting to be a high scoring affair.
