The 7th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns aren't the only Sun Belt Conference softball school that will be playing in the postseason.

Yes, Louisiana will be the only Sun Belt Conference school in the NCAA Regionals this weekend, but two other schools will have an opportunity to play for a tournament title.


Action gets underway on Thursday, May 16, with Appalachian St. taking on Rutgers, while UTA  faces Stephen F. Austin.

Appalachian St. will play in the Liberty, VA, Regional alongside five other teams, Kent St., Marshall, George-Washington, Liberty and Rutgers.

UTA will play in the Stephen F. Austin Regional, featuring UTA, Stephen F. Austin, Middle Tennessee and McNeese St.

For the Mountaineers, it will be their first Postseason NISC appearance, while the Mavericks are making their third-straight appearance, after advancing to the Championship Round last season.

Each regional site is played in a double-elimination format, with the four regional winners advancing to the championship round, which is set for May 24-26 in Fort Collins, Colorado.
