UL Football Moves Up In Latest Power Index

Despite their setback in the Sun Belt Conference Championship Game, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns moved up in the latest ESPN College Football Power Index, which was released on Sunday.

Louisiana is up one spot, to #42, in this week's ESPN Power Index.

This marks the 10th time in the last 13 weeks that the Cajuns have either climbed or remained the same in the Power Index.

UL fell to the Appalachian St. Mountaineers, 45-38, in the Sun Belt Conference Championship Game last Saturday in Boone, North Carolina, dropping to 10-3 on the season.

The Cajuns, who have won 10 of their last 12 games, return to action on Monday, January 6, when they take on Miami (Ohio) in the LendingTree Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.

The Power Index now projects Louisiana to win 11 games this season, obviously predicting them to defeat Miami, as postseason game do count against a school's record.

Ohio St. is ranked atop the ESPN Power Index, with Clemson, LSU, Alabama, and Georgia.

Louisiana is the second-highest-rated school from the Sun Belt Conference, with only Appalachian St. ahead of them, at #30.
