UPDATE 2:30 p.m.: The Broussard Police Department has confirmed a bank teller was shot during the armed robbery this morning. The victim is being treated at a local hospital where police say the victim is listed to be in stable condition. Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou said the FBI, Louisiana State Police, Lafayette Police  the Lafayette Sheriff's Office, Youngsville Police, and Scott Police are on the scene assisting the Broussard Police Department trying to track down the suspect.

Our news partners at KATC say the robbery occurred at Community First Bank near the intersection of Morgan Street and Albertsons Parkway. If you recognize the suspect, you are urged to contact Broussard Police at 837-6259. Broussard Police ordered Katherine Drexel and Broussard Middle be put under lockdown as a necessary precaution. "We're asking parents, please don't come pick them up, because the schools are on lockdown," LPSS CAO Joe Craig said. "All kids safe and accounted for. We're working with Broussard Police to keep everyone safe until they apprehend the individual." Also under lockdown is St. Cecilia school in Broussard.
