Cajuns Slip to Number Seven in NFCA Coaches’ Poll
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team slipped two spots in the rankings after dropping a weekend series to Alabama as the new NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches' Association) top 25 poll was released today.
Louisiana (15-2) split a doubleheader Saturday against the Crimson Tide before dropping a tough 3-2 decision on Sunday. Alabama (15-4) fourth in the poll. Unbeaten LSU (21-0) moved into the #5 spot while Oklahoma (14-3) is sixth.
Florida received all but one first place vote. Oregon, who the Cajuns meet later in the season in Eugene, OR, is ranked second. Michigan is third.
South Alabama (15-3) is ranked #24. The Cajuns visit Mobile for a big three game Sun Belt Conference series this weekend against the Jaguars.
