The record for the longest field goal in a game is 64 yards.

That record goes to Matt Prater, who played for the Denver Broncos at the time.

The longest attempt ever made in a game was back in 2008 when then Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski attempted a 76 yarder. Obviously, he failed.

Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker drilled a 71 yard field goal that would have destroyed the record had it been done in the game.

There have been six instances of kickers making 63 yard field goals, two of which were in Denver. That's mentioned because of the altitude, which allows the ball to travel further.

The NFL went international a few years ago. Where the international games are usually in Europe, this Monday Night Football game between the Chiefs and the Chargers was held in Mexico City.

That being said, Mile High Stadium in Denver sits at 5,200 ft above sea level. Azteca Stadium in Mexico City sits at a whopping 7,200 ft above sea level, allowing the ball to travel even further than in Mile High.
