The 5th-ranked LSU Tigers begin their 2016 regular season schedule on Saturday, taking on the Wisconsin Badgers in a non-conference affair.

The game, which will be played at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, will mark the regular season opener for both teams.

LSU, who defeated Texas Tech, 56-27, in the Texas Bowl last season, finished 2015 at 9-3, overall, and 5-3 in SEC play.

Offensively, last season, LSU averaged 32.8 points, 437.0 total yards, 257.0 rushing yards, and 180.1 passing yards per game, while allowing 24.3 points, 347.0 total yards, 123.0 rushing yards, and 224.0 passing yards a contest, defensively.

LSU is led by junior running back Leonard Fournette, who has piled up 1,953 rushing yards, including 22 touchdowns, a season ago.

Texas A&M, who beat USC, 23-21, in last year's Holiday Bowl, went 10-3, overall, last season, including a 6-2 mark in Big Ten play.

The Badgers averaged 26.8 points per game last season, along with 379.0 total yards, including 228.0 passing yards and 150.0 rushing yards, while allowing 13.7 points, 269.0 total yards, including 173.0 passing yards and 95.0 rushing yards.

Wisconsin is paced by senior running back Corey Clement, who rushed for 221 yards and 5 touchdowns last season, after returning from an injury, after rushing for 949 yards in 2014.

LSU beat Wisconsin, 28-24, when the two teams opened the 2014 season against each other.

Kickoff time is set for 2:30 pm.
