The New Orleans Pelicans kept the pressure on Oklahoma City in the playoff hunt for the 8th seed in the West with an 111-91 victory in Brooklyn.

In the Big Apple, where the lights shine brightest, Anthony Davis got solid support from his teammates on route to a victory to keep them in pace in a playoff race that most analysts aren't even giving them a chance of reaching. "The Brow" put in a pedestrian, by his standards, 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, but he was one of only five Pelicans who scored 15 points or more.

Quincy Pondexter picked up 14 of his 17 total points in the fourth quarter, where New Orleans enjoyed a comfortable lead. In a season filled with unexpected losses, complete with a few flops in the final quarter, to see them hold off an opponent was encouraging as well.

Davis enjoyed a lot of help from his fellow big men in the post as well. Omer Asik collected a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards, while Alexis Ajinca co-led the team with 17 points. The last two Pelicans to top 15 points were Eric Gordon and Norris Cole, who both hit six shots each on their way to 16 points on the road. The team shot over 50% (45-87 FG) and nailed 12 three pointers. The most important part is they keep the pressure on Oklahoma City.

There's still a lot of season left to play out, but New Orleans continues to defy their critics. The Thunder and Pelicans are both 15.5 games back from Western Conference leaders Golden State, while both teams deal with their own, individual injury issues. It's hard to expect any team to keep up with Oklahoma City and Russell Westbrook in his current form. In a season filled with surprising losses, plot twists and unexpected win streaks, at least the hope is still present.

Up next for New Orleans is a trip back home, where they will face the Nuggets and Bucks in "The Blender," where the Pelicans are 22-11 on the season.
