With their defense ranking dead last in the NFL in points per game (31.5) allowed and yards per game (424.7) allowed, the New Orleans Saints have fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, according to FOX Sports NFL reporter Alex Marvez.

47-14 road loss

Ryan took over as the Saints defensive coordinator in 2013, experiencing great success in his first season. In 2012, the New Orleans defense ranked worst in NFL history in yards allowed per game. In Ryan's first season, the Saints defense finished 4th in the NFL.

Last season, the team regressed, ranking 31rst in the league, while continuing to falter this season.
