No surprises here as the New Orleans Saints officially did not receive any compensatory picks in the 2019 NFL Draft as first reported by NFL Insider Adam Schefter:

The reason New Orleans didn't receive any compensatory picks was that they were too active within the unrestricted free agency period in 2018, the team signed more qualifying players than they lost. In turn, the only teams that receive compensatory picks are those who lose more free agents than they've gained and where each team's pick is placed in the draft is decided by average-per-year values.

Here's who the Saints signed to qualifying offers last season:

  • Linebacker Demario Davis (fourth round)
  • Cornerback Patrick Robinson (sixth round)
  • Tight end Ben Watson (seventh round)
  • Left tackle Jermon Bushrod (seventh round)

Now, here's which qualifying players the Saints lost:

  • Left guard Senio Kelemete (sixth round value)
  • Quarterback Chase Daniel (sixth round)
  • Safety Rafael Bush (seventh round)

As it stands right now the Saints have five draft picks in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft. A second rounder (#62), a fifth rounder (#168), two sixth rounders (#177 & #202), and one seventh rounder (#244).
