The 15th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns ended week three play on a high note on Sunday, securing a non-conference victory.

Louisiana defeated the Memphis Tigers, 6-3, in 11 innings, in the finale of the 32nd Louisiana Classics at Lamson Park.

The 11-inning triumph was the second in as many weeks for Louisiana, who beat Florida in 11 frames, 4-3, last week.

The win for the Cajuns move their record in this year's event to 4-1.

The triumph also improved UL's all-time record in the Louisiana Classics, which dates back to 1987, to an impressive 125-17-1.

Louisiana got on the scoreboard first, scoring a run in the top half of the second inning, when Kourtney Gremillion singled with two outs, before scoring on a two-out double off the bat of Casidy Chaumont, to give them a 1-0 lead.

Memphis answered right back to take the lead in the bottom half of the second inning, when Tyler Johnson singled home two runs, to give them a 2-1 advantage.

The Tigers plated another run in the bottom half of the 4th inning, an unearned run, when Baylee Smith drove home a run with a groundout, to widen their lead to 3-1.

The Cajuns tied it, scoring two runs in the top half of the 6th inning, including a run scoring single by Chaumont, as well as a fielders choice RBI by Kelli Martinez, to even the contest, 3-3.

The scored stayed that way until the top half of the 11th inning, when the Cajuns broke things open, scoring three runs on four hits.

Martinez began the frame with a leadoff single, moved to second on a bunt single by Brittany Rodriguez, and then scored on a ground ball off the bat of Alissa Dalton, to give UL a 4-3 lead.

Louisiana wasn't done yet either, scoring twice more, courtesy of a Kara Gremillion single and a Beth Ashley double, to widen the gap to 6-3.

That was all UL would need, as they hung on for the for the 3-run triumph.

Louisiana, who outhit Memphis, 15-8 was paced at the plate by Rodriguez, who went 4-for-6 with a run scored, while Kourtney Gremillion went  3-for-5 with a run scored.

Summer Ellyson (5-1) recorded the win in the circle for the Cajuns, allowing one unearned run on four hits over 9.2 innings of relief.

Molly Smith (4-2) suffered the loss for the Tigers, allowing 6 runs on 15 hits in 10.2 innings of work.

With the victory, Louisiana improved to 11-3, while Memphis dropped to 7-5.

Louisiana returns to the diamond on Friday when they face Michigan in the first day of play in the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, California.
