Report: LSU's Joe Brady Leaving The Tigers To Become Panthers OC

LSU passing game coordinator Joe Brady, 30, is leaving the Tigers after one season and heading back to the NFL, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The day after helping LSU procure it's 4th National Championship in school history, Brady goes back to the NFC South.

Receiving a ton of credit for the transformation of LSU's offense from outdated to a #1 ranked record-breaking unit in a single season, speculation began midseason Brady would draw interest from potential suitors.

A month ago today, Brady won the Broyles Award, given to the top assistant coach in college football.

While he wasn't LSU's offensive coordinator (that title belongs to 61-year-old Steven Ensminger), Brady was more of an offensive coaching tandem in the booth for the Tigers, carrying a role much like that of an OC.

Prior to the 2019 season at LSU, Brady was on the offensive staff of the New Orleans Saints.

He now heads back to the NFC South, joining new Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule.

Multiple reports last month stated Brady signed a big-money contract extension with LSU, but the deal included an out clause if an offer from the pros came.

At 30 years old, he'll be the youngest NFL coordinator.
